| Ask anyone – young or old – and they will certainly tell you that there’s nothing in the world quite like a fresh Christmas tree! Nothing looks like one, nothing feels like one, and certainly nothing smells like one. When the winter holidays roll around each year, your first whiff of that alluring fresh scent of pine quickly transports you to the nostalgic world of your childhood, reminding you of Christmases past and instantly putting you in the mood for Christmas present.
Fresh Christmas trees are always the environmentally-conscious choice, since they’re a natural and renewable resource and also contribute substantially to your local economy. For every farm-grown real Christmas tree that’s harvested each year, at least 1 to 3 seedlings are planted to ensure future harvests. And since those seedlings take 7 to 10 years to mature, your tree will spend most of its life absorbing carbon dioxide and providing the oxygen needed by people and animals to survive before it ever stops at your house to celebrate Christmas with you and your family.
After the holidays, fresh Christmas trees continue their lives as mulch for gardens or as winter shelter and feeding stations for birds and other animals during the winter season. Recycled fresh Christmas trees also help fight soil and sand erosion at beaches and in lakes, ponds, and riverbeds, thus protecting water resources and offering refuge for wildlife.
Here at Sturgills Tree Farms, we’re committed to growing and delivering the very best in fresh Christmas trees every year, just as we’ve done for the past 40 years. Real Christmas trees are extra-special to us, and we promise to do everything we can to share our love for them with you this holiday season! |
